Festival Team – Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2024

It’s that time of year again! We are on the lookout for people who are friendly, reliable and fans of new writing to join our Festival Team and work as Front of House members and Street Team.

Click here to view the Festival Team application pack.

Closing date for applications: Wednesday 19 June 2024 at midday
Interviews for shortlisted candidates will be held via Zoom on: Monday 24 June 2024 and Tuesday 25 June 2024

We will commit to interviewing people who identify as disabled, Global Majority and/or working class who can demonstrate they meet the level of knowledge and skills required to do the job – please see the Person Skills and Experience of the job pack, as we operate a transparent scoring system, applying a score against your response to each of the criteria as listed.

If you need any assistance, require this information in a different format or have any questions about the role, please contact to request the right version for you.

If you would like to submit your application in a different format, we would be happy to accommodate this too. For example, this could be a short video or audio recording (up to five minutes in length) rather than a letter. Again, please contact to discuss this.

Open Auditions

Posted on: January 29th, 2021 by ppAdmin

Open Auditions are our way of broadening our horizons when it comes to casting, and getting to meet actors we might not otherwise get to know. We travel up and down the UK, meeting actors for a quick chat and a monologue or duologue from a play written in the last 15 years. We also hold open auditions online.

We’re not always casting for anything specific – it’s just a chance for us to meet you, and for you to meet us. We employ around 50 actors per year, so of course we’ve got an eye on the productions we have coming up in the next year, and hoping to meet people who might be the right fit for one of our shows.

We’ve cast a number of actors we met in Open Auditions in Paines Plough productions. Many more have come in and met us for formal castings for shows off the back of a great Open Audition. We keep everyone’s details on file, and we look back on our notes on Open Auditions every time we cast a new show.

It’s one of our favourite ways to spend a day, meeting lots of great people and watching extracts of brilliant new plays.

If we have any Open Auditions coming up, they will be listed below.

And keep in the know by signing up to the mailing list and following us on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.

If you don’t get a place this time, please keep trying, we’d love to meet you at some stage.
