Since 1974, Paines Plough has supported over 500 writers to develop and produce the best new writing across the UK, reaching over 30,000 people each year.

As a charity, we rely on donations and grants to enable us to platform, produce and tour ground-breaking new plays, and nurture the next generation of writers. Anything you can give will help us to continue our mission to support new writing in the UK and beyond.
As part of our recent 50th birthday celebrations, we launched our PP Supporters Circle, led by playwrights James Graham and Nick Payne (scroll down for more information).

Join the Supporters Circle

To celebrate our 50th birthday, we launched the Supporters Circle to continue our mission to platform and empower new writers for another 50 years and beyond. Join the Circle’s founding members – playwrights James Graham and Nick Payne – to support our productions now and for the next 50 years. Supporters will receive:

  • Your name credited as a supporter on the Paines Plough website and in programmes at our shows across the country.
  • Invitations to press nights to meet cast and creatives and watch the productions your donation makes possible.
  • A dedicated newsletter with Paines Plough news and personal updates from our writers.
  • Annual online event hosted by circle founders James Graham and Nick Payne, speaking to current Paines Plough. commissioned writers

In our 50th anniversary year we want to recruit 50 patrons to support our work.

Supporters are asked to donate a minimum of £1,000 a year: you can donate monthly or annually.
